Who runs PaycheckClear
PaycheckClear is an independent reference site built by a small editorial and engineering team. We are not a payroll provider, a tax preparer, or a CPA firm. We do not claim credentials we do not hold, and we do not put a fabricated reviewer name or headshot on the page. Content is written and reviewed by the PaycheckClear editorial team using the process described in our editorial policy.
Why the calculators are free
The site is free because payroll and take-home pay are high-intent topics, and advertising and occasional partner links can support the work. The calculator itself has no paywall, no email gate, and no account. You can use it without giving us any personal information.
How we make money
We may display advertising and may earn a commission from some partner links. PaycheckClear is free to use. We may earn a commission from some partner links, and we display advertising. This never affects the numbers we calculate. We do not accept payment to change a tax rate, a calculation, or a recommendation, and we do not rank states by commission.
How we handle accuracy
Every state page lists its federal and state sources, the last verification date, and any value still being re-checked. The data sources page collects all open verification items in one place. If a rate changes, we update the state page and the visible date within five business days of the official change.
Report an error
If a number looks wrong, email hello@paycheckclear.com with the state, salary, filing status, and the result you expected. We aim to respond within two business days. Corrections are logged on the methodology page.
